Workplace Learning is a service which is designed to help your business get the training it needs to compete and succeed. Training benefits your business in many ways. It boosts competitiveness, productivity and staff motivation, and reduces your recruitment costs. By taking on the hard work of identifying and organising your training, workplace learning helps you realise the benefits to your business.
Workplace Learning is available to companies of all industry sectors. For employees to be eligible they must be over 19 and have been an EU resident for three consecutive years.
Workplace Learning (WPL) will fully fund the cost of this level 2 qualification for any employee aged between 19 and 23 years old who has not yet gained their first level 2 qualification. Those employees who do not fall within this category could be entitled to co-funding if they meet the eligibility criteria. To check the eligibility of your staff we will need to know their age, existing qualifications from school or college, how long they have lived within the EU (where appropriate) and how many employees work for your organisation.
Workplace Learning (WPL) will fully fund the cost of this Level 3 qualification for any employee aged between 19 and 23 years old who has not yet gained their first level 3 qualification. Those employees who do not fall within this category will not be able to claim any WPL funding, please enquire regarding the fee for this qualification.
From 1 August 2013 any learner aged 24 years and older will be able to apply for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan to cover full or part of their course fees. Please see the fact sheets below for further information:

How does it work?
A member of our employer engagement team will come out to discuss your businesses training needs.
Training takes place at a time to suit you the employer, and is usually delivered on site, therefore minimising disruptions to the daily running of your organisation. Delivery is flexible and can be worked around shift patterns, productivity and any other individual business needs.
Employer Training Incentive Pilot

The Employer Training Incentive Pilot (ETIP) provides a 25% return against cash paid on additional training (to the maximum claim value of £1,000 per learner) to help Norfolk and Suffolk SME businesses to grow. This scheme will give businesses the control to choose their training and training provider for their staff. Eligible training must be additional, i.e. non-mandatory, and used to enhance productivity, efficiency or vocational effectiveness. The training can be either:
- An apprenticeship (over 19 years of age)
- An accredited Qualification level 1-4
- Or non-accredited training
